Professional Details

Jack has recently joined Chambers after working as In-House Counsel for a successful Firm in the South West of England. Jack predominately practices on the Western Circuit but is willing to travel further afield when required. He is renowned for being able to get to the root of the legal issues before him. He takes a professional approach to all cases with the constant desire to achieve the best outcome for his clients.

Jack has previously been the joint founder and director of his own successful legal services business, helping both lay and professional clients.

Family Law

Through his time as In-House Counsel, Jack has developed a deep and detailed understanding all aspects of Family Law.

When dealing with private law children matters, Jack understands the importance of practical and logical advice for child arrangement orders, specific issue order and prohibitive steps orders. He is a determined advocate who has handled the full spectrum of cases including domestic violence, internal relocation and external family members applications.

With regards to matrimonial financial matters, Jack is experienced in dealing with the full variety of cases. He has handled long and short marriage cases with where the finances have ranged from being limited to in excess of several million.

For public law proceedings, Jack can appear on behalf of local authorities, parents and children. His knowledge and experience allows him to break down complex scenarios into a language that his clients can understand and appreciate.

In addition to the above, Jack is experienced in pre and post nuptial agreements, separation agreements and all matters regarding cohabitation. Jack has appeared in Family Law Act procedures that include non-molestation orders and occupation orders, with clients have suffered from and/or been accused of Domestic Abuse.

Contentious Probate

Jack has a comprehensive understanding of the Inheritance (Provision of Family Dependants) Act 1975. He has advised numerous clients on the validity of their claims as well defending claims brought against the relevant estate.

He can adopt an informed yet commercial approach to cases that seeks to achieve the best possible outcome for his prospective clients.

Notable Cases

R v P (2018) – representation of a Father where allegations were made against him of sexual abuse. These were proven to have no basis and direct contact was achieved.
P v P (2018) – increased Father’s contact from the Mother’s proposal of 4 out 14 days to a split of 6 out of 14 days.
Mrs E (2017) – negotiated a significant financial award for the daughter of the Deceased who wrote his daughter out of his Will.
Ms M (2018) – succeeded in a successful resolution of a claim for the long term partner of the Deceased who died intestate and without ever cohabiting.

Interests/Hobbies

When he is not working, Jack can be found participating and watching a full variety of sports. He has run both the London and Paris marathons as well as organising and completing his own event, 100km in a day. Jack also enjoys travelling and exploring both of the hemispheres.
