Professional details

Livia joined Chambers in 2019 after successful completion of her Pupillage.

Prior to joining the Bar, Livia worked at a Legal Aid criminal defence firm in Bristol, where she qualified as a Police Station Representative in 2013. Her years representing clients at interview and managing a Crown Court caseload gave her a thorough grounding in criminal law. She also worked as a Paralegal at a large multi-national law firm, dealing with criminal regulatory work in health and safety, healthcare and inquest matters for insurer clients. She has assisted in catastrophic injury claims and was instrumental in managing various complex cases.

Livia’s approachable and personable manner has enabled her to develop an expanding family practice. She has acted in a wide variety of cases, including private and public children law matters and applications under the Family Law Act 1996 Part IV. She is instructed by applicants and respondents and has appeared in multi-day fact-finding and final hearings. Livia frequently deals with cases involving matters such as domestic abuse.

Livia is regularly instructed by both prosecution (CPS and Probation Service) and defence in criminal cases. She has appeared in multi-day trials in the Magistrates’ Court and has had significant experience with vulnerable witnesses and dealing with technical issues. She appears in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts and has been commended by magistrates for her focused approach and clarity when presenting cases.
